Brake size should be as close to the ski waist width as possible. Ski should be a maximum of 5mm narrower or 15mm wider than the brake.

The next-gen Shift is here with beefed-up strength, smoother touring, and even better power transfer. An aluminum Power Block AFD locks in security and boosts downhill performance by 30%, while updated toe wings and brake lock keep things solid on the up. Touring or charging, it’s game on.

Technical stuff to nerd out on 👇🏼
  • HYBRID TOURING + DOWNHILL POWER - The Shift2 13 blends the downhill performance of an alpine binding with touring capability. Its hybrid toe and heel architecture gives excellent power transfer and retention when charging descents, yet quickly transitions to efficient uphill mode without removing parts.
  • POWER BLOCK AFD - A micrometrically adjustable aluminum Power Block AFD increases lateral stiffness by up to 30 % compared to earlier Shift models, creating a firmer, more responsive interface between boot and binding for aggressive skiing.
  • SLIDING TOE PEDAL - The sliding toe pedal mounted on a spring allows controlled lateral movement and re-centering — enabling safe release in a lateral fall while maintaining secure downhill performance.
  • HIKE & RIDE SWITCH + CLIMBING AIDS - Easy-to-operate Hike & Ride Switch and dual-height climbing aids make transitioning from ski mode to uphill mode intuitive. The taller climbing aid improves efficiency on steeper skin tracks.
  • LOW PROFILE + OVERSIZED PLATFORM - A low-profile chassis improves snow feel and power transmission, while the oversized boot platform maximizes lateral power transfer, especially on wider skis — giving a planted, direct downhill feel.
  • MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION - Built from carbon-infused polyamide, aluminum, and steel, the Shift2 balances strength, stiffness, and reduced weight (~1840 g per pair), keeping weight competitive for a hybrid system without compromising reliability.
  • BOOT COMPATIBILITY - Multi-Norm Certified (MN) — compatible with Alpine (ISO 5355), GripWalk (ISO 23223), Walk To Ride (WTR), and ISO 9523 Touring boot soles (tech fittings required for uphill).
