The Artwork

Tom DeVries x J Collab

200 MadeReleased August 1, 2026

When the first ski came out of the press, my jaw dropped. Seeing the raw metal and wood core behind the art looks absolutely insane in person.

Tom DeVries is an Australian tattoo artist and fine art painter who runs Birds of Prey Tattoo and has spent his career mastering Japanese-style tattooing. Bold lines, deep detail, harmonious contrast between aggression and serenity. He created this piece with ink and tea on a cotton rag, which gives his art this incredible organic warmth you don't expect from someone who also creates high-contrast tattoo imagery.

The centerpiece of this artwork is the hawk sitting on an old twisted pine tree. It’s deeply Japanese in feel, the kind of image you'd see on an ancient scroll, but with this raw aggressive edge that keeps it soulful and lethal at the same time. We love how the branches bring your eye down the length of the ski.

We went with a clear topsheet so the raw metal laminate and wood construction of the Fastforward shows through wherever there's no art, adding unique depth and dimension. For the base we zoomed in on the hawk in the branches. When you’re in the air, you’re the bird of prey. The terrain below doesn’t stand a chance.

We made just 200 pair of these Limited Edition Fast Forward skis and J Lev hand-signed and numbered each, so grab a pair quickly before they sell out.

The Fastforward

124 – 88 – 111

The narrowest ski in our Charge Collection for the best grip and precision on firm snow.

Calling all corduroy killers! We completely re-engineered The Fastforward with NEW geometry and a lighter construction, making it the lightest, carviest, funnest 88mm waist ski you’ve ever ridden. We narrowed the width, deepened the sidecut and eliminated the rocker entirely. It’s Rocker Free! Roll it over and you’ll swear it’s reading your mind, because 100% of the edge is engaged with the snow, including the tip, for maximum grip. The new Aspen wood core makes this one of the lightest skis in its class, a mind-blowing 300 grams lighter than the previous version, backed by a solid flex that holds strong when you lay it over. Your legs won’t get tired out, so you can ski longer with less effort. Along the top of the ski you’ll recognize the visible 3D Titanal metal in the iconic “Dork Fork” shape, inspired by J’s legendary “Prophet” ski. This construction adds power and stability where you need it and cuts weight where you don’t. It’s predictable, smooth, and confidence inspiring. You’ll be carving groomers like a hot knife through butter while enjoying the fun-loving, playful feel J skis are known for. Killin’ corduroy never felt so good!

The Finest Materials

Lightweight Construction

By selling these skis factory directly to you, we can invest more money into using the highest quality materials possible for a game-changing level of premium performance & durability.

Full Height Sidewalls

Maximum impact resistant & vibration dampening
We’re using super durable, high impact absorbing Ultra High Molecular Weight (UHMW) polyethylene for our sidewalls. This is the same material we use on our ski's bases. It’s very impact resistant and since it’s full height, it also absorbs more vibration like using a longer spring in your car’s suspension. Take a metal pipe and hit it against a rock, then do the same with a piece of plastic. The metal vibrates through to your bones & the plastic absorbs the vibration for you. That’s the difference of having full height plastic shock absorbing sidewalls over your edges or not. We’re cutting the sides of the sidewalls to a 10* angle, with a nice step at the bottom for easy tuning like race skis.
