RETAIL SALESPERSON/BARTENDER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We're hiring skiers to work full time at our Intergalactic Headquarters, the home of J SKIS and SKI THE EAST retail stores, and "J BREWSKIS" family-friendly ski & snowboard themed bar, lounge. We are a local, family owned and operated ski brand recognized world-wide for its award winning product, innovative direct to consumer business model, and unique fun attitude since 2013.

 LOCATION HOURS:
Wed-Sat 1-8pm
Sun 1-6pm.

J skis and Ski The East have teamed up to offer customers a one-of-a-kind authentic and incredibly experiential retail store/bar experience. You will be helping customers shop and get fitted with our latest goods, while also providing them with deeper knowledge, appreciation and connection to our products and brands.

Inside our retail store we also have ski lodge themed 40 foot wrap around bar, and 1,000 square foot lounge. You will be serving a simple menu of canned drinks, casual foods, and very strong après vibe to compliment the retail store and events experience.

 

RETAIL - RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 -Develop a comprehensive understanding of our product’s design, construction and intended use.

 -Provide accurate information as to why a product is best for each customer’s specific needs.

 -Assist customers through all parts of the purchase and post-purchase process.

 -Communicate one-on-one with each customer live in the store, and over the phone or texts.

 -Develop a complete understanding and ability to efficiently use our Point of Sale system, and online e-commerce system.

 -Utilize the tools provided to ensure customer satisfaction and generate sales.

-Give a full tour of the shop and bar, highlighting all aspects of the business

 BAR - RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 -Check customers IDs that are ordering alcohol

 -Serve alcohol, non-alcohol drinks, and light food

 -Contribute to managing inventory and vendor relationships

 -Contribute ideas to facilitate menu and costing changes

 -Participate in ongoing training and education

 -Proactively maintain a clean and well organized work area and tools

 -Handle all day-to-day operations, including using our POS system, audio and visual systems

 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

 -You must be a passionate skier or snowboarder!

 -Must be willing to work a rotating schedule with others including nights, weekends and holidays.

-Must be able to work Thanksgiving week (except for Thanksgiving day).

 -Very approachable, out going, fun and easy to talk to personality.

 -Very skilled communicator. Ability to empathize with a diverse customer base.

 -General knowledge of ski performance and other skis on the market today.

 -Strong verbal communication skills.

 -Strong sales person skills

 -Comfortable working with digital systems

 -Proficient use of online programs and Point of Sales systems

 -Prior ski service experience with demos, rental, mounting, etc. a plus.

 -Prior sales experience required (ski shop sales experience preferred).

 -Prior bar tending/backing experience is a plus.

 -Be able to obtain a Vermont alcohol server certification.

 -You must be goal oriented

 -Excellent problem-solving skills, and able to think critically and efficiently
