The most popular freeride binding on the planet just got a ground-up redesign. The Marker Griffon X 13 keeps everything that made the Griffon a decade-long staple on skis everywhere, then drops it lower, tightens it up, and toughens the guts. If you want proven freeride retention with a more direct, connected feel than any Griffon before it, this is the one to mount.

The headline is stand height. A fully integrated X-Brake tucks into the heel plate to deliver a 14mm heel and a remarkable 9mm at the toe, the lowest stack Marker has ever built into a freeski binding. Getting your boot that close to the ski means faster edge engagement, sharper power transmission, and real feedback from the snow underfoot. You feel the ski work instead of riding on top of a tall platform.

Up front, the Triple Pivot Elite X toe is now molded from a single-piece cast housing, which makes it lighter, more compact, and more stable through hard, off-axis hits. A beefed-up Anti-Ice Rail clears snow and slush from under the boot so you get consistent step-in and a clean, predictable release every time.

The redesigned heel is easier to click into than the old Griffon and shifts its material forward for a shorter mount zone, all without changing the drill pattern. Shorter footprint means less swing weight for quicker spins, plus a deeper, more natural ski flex. Magnesium reinforcement through the toe wings and heel frame keeps the whole system rigid and bombproof season after season.

GripWalk compatibility covers both adult boot sole standards you actually ski on, traditional Alpine (ISO 5355 A) and GripWalk (ISO 23223 A), for sure footing to the lift and a confident click-in. Note this is a resort binding and does not accept touring (ISO 9523) soles.

Why skiers trust the Griffon

The Griffon earned its reputation the hard way, as the reliable, bombproof workhorse that just keeps skiing. The X takes that no-nonsense chassis and levels up the feel: better snow feedback, better edge-to-edge transfer, and more connection to the ski, with the DIN 4 to 13 range that covers everyone from progressing intermediates to hard-charging experts.

Who it's for

All-mountain, freeride, and freestyle skiers who want premium power transfer and a low, connected feel. The X-Brake is integrated and fixed, so pick your brake width at purchase based on your ski's waist. Not sure which brake fits your setup? Reach out and we'll dial it in.
