Alright, let's take a trip back to 1966. Mountain Gazette had just hit the scene in Colorado, capturing the spirit of the outdoor world and counter-culture vibes. It wasn't just a magazine; it was a blend of wild adventure stories, captivating poetry, and jaw-dropping photos. This was the real deal for mountain lovers!
Despite its early success, Mountain Gazette hit a rough patch and stopped printing in 1979. It became legendary, almost mythical, for those who remembered its raw and honest take on mountain life.
Fast forward to 2020. My friend Mike Rogge, a skier and journalist with a deep love for the mountains, recognized the magic of the old Gazette and decided it was time for a comeback. Mike didn’t just want to revive it; he wanted to revolutionize print in the process, all while staying true to the mag’s roots.
Mike focused on long-form journalism that dove deep, backed it up with incredible photography, and printed it on gigantic, mind-blowing 11x17-inch paper! You’ve never seen a mag like this before! The response? Pure stoke. Old fans were hyped, and a whole new generation fell in love with print again. MG proved that print ain’t dead!
We created this ski graphic with Mike handpicking Mountain Gazette’s most iconic covers to lay across the top of the skis. Then, we applied their famous saying across the base, adding fun chairlift characters drawn by MG’s artist, Mike Handzlik aka The Dead Dirtbag. We even included the MRG single chair as a nod to Mike’s eastern roots.
I made only 250 pairs of this new Limited Edition graphic on “The Escalator” ski and hand-signed and numbered each pair. Print ain’t dead, but these skis won’t last long, so order your pair today before they sell out!

The Escalator is easy up, easy down… you CAN have your cake and eat it too!
This lighter weight, yet uniquely solid ski is built to do what you wanna do, whether that's sunrises on the skin track or spending all of your time riding lifts. The secret ingredient is a combination of a light Aspen core paired with our classic downhill ski construction for a Goldilocks feel that seamlessly blends stability with weight savings. Its 102mm waist slides perfectly into every skier’s quiver as a do-it-all tool that can lay down quick, snappy carves in bounds as effortlessly as it surfs wide open pow fields. We gave it a twin-tip shape for skiing backward and increased maneuverability in tight situations like chutes or trees. A subtle tail notch provides reliable skin clip retention for fast transitions. Add our pre-cut skins that perfectly fit the skis, and you're ready to go touring right out of the box! "The Escalator" will keep your legs fresher longer, so you can shred stronger from sunrise to last chair.

This ski is kind of a big deal!
A bell to bell cruiser with the reliability, nimbleness and energy that I've been craving for a long time.
- Freeskier Magazine
The 102mm-wide Escalator combines a pretty accessible flex pattern and freestyle-friendly design with a moderately lightweight construction, equating to a ski that a whole lot of folks could enjoy, whether you've got a park background or are a directional skier who wants something forgiving and intuitive.
- Blister Gear Review
Takes the fun of a damp all-mountain ski and lightens it up to tour.
- Backcountry Magazine
Lightweight, slashy and nimble. It pivots on a dime while maintaining a respectable level of stability. The fairly aggressive sidecut lends itself to a mean carve, yet you can still pivot, slash and schmear the tails. It’s a great combination for today’s creative freeride skier.
