Our Intergalactic Headquarters are located 247 Main St. Burlington, Vermont and is the home of J SKIS and SKI THE EAST retail stores, as well as "J BREWSKIS" family-friendly ski & snowboard themed bar, lounge and J skis offices. 

RETAIL SALES & BARTENDING JOB

J skis and Ski The East have teamed up to offer customers a one-of-a-kind authentic experiential retail store experience. You will be helping customers shop and get fitted with our latest goods, while also providing them with deeper knowledge, appreciation and connection to our products and brands.

Inside our retail store we also have ski lodge themed 40 foot wrap around bar, and 1,000 square foot lounge. You will be serving a simple menu of canned drinks, casual foods, and very strong après vibzzz to compliment the retail store and events experience.

Applicants msut be passionate about working in retail and customer service, with proven experience.

RETAIL - RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of our product’s design, construction and intended use.
• Provide accurate information as to why a product is best for each customer’s specific needs.
• Assist customers through all parts of the purchase and post-purchase process.
• Communicate one-on-one with each customer in person, and over the phone, email or texts.
• Develop a complete understanding and ability to efficiently use our Point of Sale system, and online e-commerce system.
• Utilize the tools provided to ensure customer satisfaction and generate sales.

BAR - RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Check customers IDs that are ordering alcohol
• Serve alcohol, non-alcohol drinks, and light food
• Contribute to managing inventory and vendor relationships
• Contribute ideas to improve our offerings and experience to customers
• Participate in ongoing training and education
• Proactively maintain a clean and well organized work area and tools
• Handle all day-to-day operations

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• You must be a passionate skier!
• Able to obtain a Vermont alcohol server certification.
• Willing to work a rotating schedule with others including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong experience, skills and passion for retail sales and customer service (ski shop preferred)
• Very skilled communicator with the ability to be considerate and empathize with a diverse customer base.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and able to think critically and effeciently
• Approachable, out going, fun and easy to talk to personality.
• General knowledge of ski performance and other skis on the market today.
• Proficient and comfortable using online programs and Point of Sales systems
• Prior ski service experience with demos, rental, mounting is a plus
• Prior bar tending/backing experience is a plus.

Compensation: $18/hr

Mon-Thu 12-8pm
Fri-Sat 12-10pm
Sun 12-6pm.
